AI SEO Content Production with MCP in 2026: Keyword Research, Briefs, Internal Links & WordPress
If content strategy answers what should we publish?, content production answers how do we reliably turn an approved topic into a publish-ready page?
This workflow combines research, structured planning, writing, internal-link discovery, CMS preparation and quality checks.
MCP stack
- Search/browser: research the current SERP and authoritative sources.
- Search Console/SEO data: understand existing query performance where an appropriate connector is available.
- Google Sheets: maintain keyword clusters and content status.
- Google Drive/Docs: store briefs and editorial documents.
- WordPress MCP Adapter: create or update content where the site's abilities and permissions allow it.
Workflow
- Start from an approved keyword or topic.
- Inspect existing GyanAangan/site coverage.
- Research the query and related intents.
- Build an outline based on the task, not competitor word count.
- Collect primary sources.
- Draft the page.
- Find relevant internal links.
- Validate title, description, headings and structured content.
- Create a WordPress draft.
- Run a human editorial review.
Copy-paste production prompt
Build a production brief for this approved topic.
First inspect our existing content and identify possible cannibalization.
Then research:
- primary intent
- related questions
- authoritative sources
- practical user tasks
- terminology users actually need
Return:
1. title
2. meta description
3. primary keyword
4. secondary keywords
5. H2/H3 structure
6. source plan
7. internal-link candidates
8. verification checklist

Internal linking with MCP
Give the agent access to your own content index or CMS search rather than asking it to invent URLs. The workflow should retrieve candidate pages, compare their actual relevance, and insert links only when they genuinely help the reader.
WordPress as the final staging layer
WordPress's official MCP Adapter bridges its Abilities API to MCP. The current adapter is the canonical project; the older Automattic WordPress MCP repository is archived and points users toward the adapter.

Importantly, abilities are not automatically exposed. The adapter uses opt-in exposure and permission checks. That is exactly what you want for a production content system.
SEO QA prompt
Audit this draft before it becomes publishable.
Check:
- search intent match
- factual claims
- source coverage
- title
- meta description
- heading hierarchy
- keyword stuffing
- internal links
- broken or suspicious URLs
- duplicated sections
- unsupported statistics
- unnecessary introduction
- missing practical steps
Return PASS/FAIL for each item and explain failures.
Client compatibility
Claude, ChatGPT and LM Studio can all be relevant to an MCP workflow, but the connection method differs. Remote HTTP MCP servers and local STDIO servers are not interchangeable, and ChatGPT support depends on the supported connector/client surface.
Security
Keep the writing agent away from production publishing until the article has passed QA. Ideally expose a staging WordPress site or a narrowly scoped WordPress MCP server for experimentation.
Best architecture
Research MCPs → planning MCPs → content workspace → WordPress staging → human approval → analytics.
This separation makes failures easier to diagnose and prevents one bad instruction from turning into a published site-wide change.
Official references
Turn the process into a repeatable production queue
Use a Google Sheet or database with fields such as topic, primary query, intent, status, owner, brief URL, draft URL, WordPress status and publication date. The agent should update status only when it has evidence that the previous stage completed.
Suggested states
idea → researched → approved → briefing → drafting → QA → WordPress draft → approved → published → measured
Copy-paste internal-link prompt
Search our existing content for pages genuinely related to this article. Return up to eight candidates with title, URL and one-sentence reason for relevance. Reject pages that only share a keyword but do not help the reader. Never invent a URL.Copy-paste final QA prompt
Before this article is moved to WordPress, inspect the complete HTML.
Check every link, heading, list, code block and factual claim.
Identify duplicated ideas.
Identify claims that need a source.
Check that the introduction answers the search intent quickly.
Check that the conclusion does not introduce new claims.
Return a blocking-issues list and a non-blocking improvements list.Why this workflow scales
The production queue creates a boundary between creativity and operations. A writer can change the article without breaking the keyword record; an SEO editor can change metadata without giving the agent publishing access; and a developer can update the WordPress integration without changing the research process.
Practical rule
Use MCP to remove repetitive copying and context switching, not to remove editorial judgment. The highest-value automation is usually the boring coordination work around the article.
